The Indian Super League (ISL) has seen some formidable forwards play in the competition. Both domestic and international strikers have produced goal-scoring fests in the tournament, with some of them having had a lasting impact throughout the decade-long history of the league. However, only two Indians make this top-10 list, amplifying the concerns of the national team regarding the absence of a consistent person to lead the frontline for the Blue Tigers.

  1. Sunil Chhetri – 64 goals

The Bengaluru FC talisman became the leading goal-scorer in the league’s history this season, with 64 strikes in 153 matches. He has won the ISL title once in 2018-19, and also has a fairly impressive stint with Mumbai City FC in 2015-16 too.

  1. Bartholomew Ogbeche – 63 goals

Bartholomew Ogbeche starred for multiple franchises, namely NorthEast United FC, Kerala Blasters FC, Mumbai City FC, and Hyderabad FC. He was a dominant presence inside the box and was a complete striker, being comfortable with the ball in his feet and strong in the air too.

  1. Roy Krishna – 56 goals

Roy Krishna has notched 56 goals and topped it with 26 assists in the league, winning the ISL title with ATK Mohun Bagan. At 37, he is still performing consistently with the Juggernauts.

  1. Ferran Corominas – 48 goals

Ferran Corominas was a dazzling presence at the top of the attack for FC Goa, scoring 48 goals in 57 games at a ridiculous consistency. He also notched 16 assists, which comes down to over one goal contribution per match.

  1. Diego Mauricio – 41 goals

Diego Mauricio entered the ISL only in 2020, but has made his way up this list with the help of 41 goals and seven assists in 75 appearances. In between his two stints with Odisha FC, he also had a short spell for Mumbai City FC in 2022.

  1. Lallianzuala Chhangte – 40 goals

Lallianzuala Chhangte’s tally of 40 goals and 18 assists is even more impressive since he plays on the flanks. His piercing pace and razor sharp accuracy in front of the goal has been a key facet behind Mumbai City FC’s recent successes.

  1. Cleiton Silva – 36 goals

The Brazilian marksman has netted 36 times and assisted on 11 occasions in 82 matches. He has also made 59 successful dribbles and 110 key passes, showing his all-round skills in addition to his goal-scoring prowess.

  1. Jorge Pereyra Diaz – 34 goals

The Argentine forward has been a success at all clubs that he has played at. In his only season with the Kerala Blasters FC, he helped the club reach the final before securing a move to Mumbai City FC. He was a hit with the Islanders as played a big hand in the club’s League Shield triumph and ISL Cup victory where he scored the equaliser in the final against Mohun Bagan SG. He will now look to extend his ISL story with Bengaluru FC

  1. Iain Hume – 29 goals

Iain Hume was one of the earliest superstars in the ISL, scoring 29 goals and assisting on seven occasions in 69 appearances. His trickery often caught the attention of the audience and he helped sky-rocket the popularity of the competition in its initial years too.

  1. Nerijus Valskis – 27 goals

Nerijus Valskis aggregated 27 goals and assisted seven of them in 55 ISL matches. He was the main man upfront for both Chennaiyin FC and Jamshedpur FC, striking goals for fun and lifting the standards of the entire frontline.
