In FIFA, pace is one of the most important attributes, with many players zooming around the pitch like racecars, darting past defenders and creating space. However, not everyone is built for speed.
There are a few players who might struggle to keep up when the game turns into a footrace. Whether it’s a centre-back whose strength lies in reading the game and positioning himself at the right time, or a striker whose power comes from physicality and precise movement rather than blistering pace, these players aren’t the ones you’ll want in a 1v1 sprint or trying to outrun an opponent down the wing.
With that, let’s take a look at the five slowest players in FIFA 25.
1. David Webster (29 Pace)
Position: Centre-back
Club: Drogheda United
Overall Rank: 55
David Webster is officially the slowest player on FIFA 25 with a pace rating of just 29. But he has a decent defending rating (54) and decent physicality (59). You won’t see the Irish defender making last-minute sprints to cover counter-attacks, but he’s solid in the air and tough in tackles.
2. Patrick Bauer (29.1 Pace)
Position: Centre-back
Club: Preston North End FC
Overall Rank: 67
Another centre-back who takes his time, Patrick Bauer comes in at 29.1 pace. His defending (67.2) and physicality (70) stats, however, more than make up for his lack of speed. He’s great in aerial duels and a solid presence at the back.
3. Richard Wood (30.1 Pace)
Position: Centre-back
Overall Rank: 62
Richard Wood might have a little more pace than the previous two (30.1), but he’s still not winning any races. His defending and physicality stats (61.5 and 66.2, respectively) are solid enough for a reliable centre-back. Like the others on this list, the English defender is not about speed but with the help of his physical attributes, opponents won’t find it easy to get past him.
4. Athde Nuhiu (30.2 Pace)
Position: Striker
Club: STR Altrach
Overall Rank: 66
Athde Nuhiu is the only forward to feature in the top five list and has a pace rating of 30.2, which might make him a bit of a liability on the break, but he makes up for it with his strength and finishing ability. With a shooting rating of 65.3 and a physicality of 83.4, Nuhiu is more about positioning and power rather than chasing down through balls. The Kosovo-born striker is the kind of player you want to send in for headers or hold-up play, not for making a run behind defenders.
5. Kyle McFadzean (30.2 Pace)
Position: Centre-back
Club: Blackburn Rovers FC
Overall Rank: 69
Rounding out our list is Kyle McFadzean, who shares the same pace as Nuhiu at 30.2. While not fast, McFadzean compensates with excellent physicality (78.1) and decent defending stats (68.3). He’s the definition of a no-nonsense centre-back and can get the job done with a combination of strength and reading of the game. You’re not picking him for pace, but he’s tough to beat when he gets his body in the way.
